Our Story
The magic of handmade pieces for unforgettable occasions
At Mariquitinas, we believe every childhood deserves to be celebrated with garments as unique as the children who wear them. We were born with the purpose of dressing the magic of life’s most special days — the ones that live on in memories and in family photographs forever.
Our collections begin as lovingly sketched ideas and are transformed into exclusive designs you will only find here. Each piece is hand-embroidered and carefully sewn by skilled artisans in traditional workshops, moving away from the rush of fast fashion to embrace quality, heritage, and the warmth of true craftsmanship.
We pour care and intention into every step of the process — from the first lines drawn on paper to the moment the garment arrives, ready to accompany laughter, play, and embraces at every celebration.
Because what is made by hand, with love and without haste, always carries a story. And that story, just like childhood itself, is unique and irreplaceable.
Why the name Mariquitinas?
Because that was the name given to paper doll cutouts in Spain in the 1960s.
Because it takes me back to my childhood — to winter afternoons with my mother, when scissors, cardboard, and colored pencils turned the kitchen table into a place where we created paper dresses for my little dolls.
Because it brings back a way of playing that has almost disappeared, yet still lives on in memory.
Because it transports us to another time — one in which fashion was imagined slowly, shaped by skilled hands, and created to accompany moments truly worth remembering.
Modern Heritage
Our embroidery is crafted by hand, stitch by stitch, following the tradition of artisanal smocking.
Each design is born from the expertise of skilled artisans and reimagined through a contemporary lens, where precision, time, and care make all the difference.
A heritage transformed into modern design.
Craftsmanship that endures, crafted for today.
